"South Park" is a show born in blasphemy. The first, un-aired episode from 1995 featured a fight scene between Jesus and Santa. "South Park's" creators since have spared no major religion in their taunts and mockery.
David Koepsell, executive director of the Council for Secular Humanism, will talk about "South Park" and other religious satire and whether it goes too far.
Hey, guys, it's been a while!
Anyway, Sarah has passed on info about Guelph Pride Picnic, and though I've already added it to the Facebook community (that's right, there's now a Facebook community
, though it says GSA Ross in particular), Sarah asked me to plop in in here, too. So, here it be!
Glad to hear a GSA is interested in being involved with Guelph Pride 2007. Yeah!
Thanks for your offer of 12 volunteers to help out, too. Anna Fischer, a student at Queen's University, is very interested in putting together a movie night/matinee hopefully at the Ebar. There may be a social component and an opportunity to invite queer organizations to be there with information about what they do.
Would you and your volunteers be interested in helping with that? If so, I can pass along your name and contact information to Anna.
A heads up:Gays On Strike
A new TV movie coming out on A&E. I think it's December 10th or 11th or so.
3 out of 9 GSA posters have gone missing:
- Drama Room
- Outside Rm 308
One was ripped off my locker but I found it in the garbage and re-posted it.
We need a revolution.
I hope you enjoy. 'Tis a news story I thought all you kids would enjoy as members of the GSA. The community's ok too, but this article is actually relevant.
I was absolutely STUNNED at the GSA meeting last week. It was great to see all of those new faces!
So I hope some of you have managed to find this page. This is our official home on the Web, and as you can see it's not exclusively a Ross community... it's for Guelph in its entirety, though it seems like everyone in it is at or has gone to Ross. :S
Anyway, just a welcome message! And for the experienced GSAers, I guess this is just a comment to wake up the community a little bit :3
Happy National Coming out day!
Queer Identities week is coming up, the 20-28 of October. The schedule isn't up yet, but I know that a lot of the events take place during school hours, so this may be the first year I will actually be able to go to some! And there is usually a drag show at the university near the end of the week on an evening.
ok, so... is there a GSA this year? I hope so! Anyone let me know how meetings go and stuff. I like that the school has a GSA.
hahaha, any plans to do the survey? ^-^
This is kinda cool.. I just made a livejournal, and who do I find when I search Guelph... why, my own dear friends from Ross :P I'm glad to see GSA is still alive and getting stronger. All power to you guys, if you ever need help you can let me know.
This girl on my flist takes amazing pictures
Look at these
and tell me you don't smile!
speaking of pride parades, who's heading over to Toronto at the end of the month? Maybe I'll run into some people I know..
OMG! I haven't been on here in ages! Hey everyone! Sarah here. Hope you guys are all keeping Ross up to the standards we set. :P
Lots 'o' love!
